Turning 28!

Turning 28 isn’t so bad! I don’t know why, but 28 has always been a magic number for me… when I was a little girl, I used to fantasize about being 28. There was something about the number that I could never quite get it out of my head. Maybe that means this year will bring good luck! I hope so!

My birthday on Wednesday was so much fun! Instead of going to my website design class, Russ talked me into skipping and going to Mimi’s Café for breakfast. We had a great time and then he dropped me off so I could put in a few hours of work. When I got to work, I had some presents and cards waiting for me! It’s crazy, but I love my work friends! They always spoil me! I got a painting from Kate and Twilight Scene It from Brenda and Erica—yeah I can’t wait to play it! And to top it off, I got a call that someone was in reception waiting for me to sign some docs. So I headed up to the front, and when I opened the door, everyone from the company was there to sing me happy birthday and we all had lemon meringue pie.

After getting a few things done at the office, Russ picked me up and we headed to the Spectrum to movie hop. We saw The Bounty Hunter and Date Night. Both were hilarious!!!! After the movie, Russ said he had to go and pick up his laptop from his store. I complained that I didn’t want to walk all the way over there and I wanted to go and sit in the car… but he insisted that because we just spent four hours sitting and watching the movies, that we should get a good walk in. Then he asked if I wanted to go and play a game at Dave and Busters since we had time to kill before dinner with my parents (which was planned at RipTide). I told him that it sounded good to me, because I wanted to win a t-shirt at my wheel of fortune game. When we went in, Russ started to steer me in the wrong direction and I insisted that it was the other way… as soon as he pulled me to the side, I was surprised with my friends and family waiting for me at a party table. It was great! It was so fun to be surrounded by such great people in celebrating my special day! We had dinner and then Casey & Rob, Narine, Dave & Allison, stayed to play games. Russ and I didn’t get home until 11:30! It was so much fun!

Thanks again to everyone who helped Russ with the surprise! It really was an awesome night!
